By now, I’d like to think that we all know that being fashionable is not a sin to God, and taking an interest in the various fashion offerings from season to season will not see your name erased from the book of life.
Clothing is a basic need, first provided by God to Adam and Eve and now to everyone worldwide. And while the primary role of clothing is not fashion, it has been used for many years as a form of outward expression.
However, it’s good to note as believers that fashion should in no way become an idol or something that we crave or worship because the reality is there is more to life than our earthly garments. Jesus said, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes” (Luke 12:22–23). So, it isn’t wrong to exude style as long as we keep things in perspective and the clothes we choose do not contradict biblical standards.
Now, if you’re on the lookout for fashion inspiration, look no further than our curation below because where better to take dressing cues from than some of our very own brother’s and sister’s in the faith, right?
These 10 are sartorially stylish and saved.
