Hotel Flanelles Paris

Article by: Dara Olagbami

Opposite Gare du Nord, Hotel Flanelles offers something increasingly valuable in Paris: a beautifully considered place to stay that combines convenience, character and genuinely attentive service.

There is a particular rhythm to Paris during Fashion Week. Mornings begin earlier than they should, getting dressed becomes an event in itself, and the day unfolds through a succession of shows, appointments, fittings, dinners and the inevitable decision of where to go next.

Which is why where you stay matters.

During Paris Fashion Week, I stayed at Hotel Flanelles, a boutique address directly opposite Gare du Nord. What stood out was not simply its location, but the combination of a well-connected setting, considered interiors and a level of personal service that made the stay feel particularly easy.

If you’re considering where to stay for Paris Fashion Week — or simply looking for a comfortable, well-connected address for a stay in the city — Hotel Flanelles makes a compelling case.

Why stay at Hotel Flanelles?

The obvious answer is location.

Situated directly opposite Gare du Nord, Flanelles is exceptionally well connected to the rest of Paris, making it particularly practical for visitors with a full itinerary. During Fashion Week, this was invaluable; for a city break or business trip, the same convenience applies.

But the hotel has enough character to make it more than simply a convenient place to sleep.

Housed within a 1900 Parisian building, Flanelles combines its architectural heritage with warmer, contemporary interiors, soft textures and an art programme that gives the property personality.

Best for: travellers who prioritise convenience, design and easy access to the wider city.

The Hotel

The first impression is one of understated character.

The reception and dining spaces balance contemporary design with a distinctly Parisian sensibility, with artwork providing some of the most memorable visual details. The atmosphere is relaxed rather than overly formal, making the hotel feel approachable despite its boutique positioning.

There is also a pleasing contrast between the hotel and its surroundings. Gare du Nord is one of Paris’ busiest transport hubs; inside Flanelles, the pace feels considerably more measured.

The hotel also has a café, terrace and communal spaces, giving guests somewhere to spend time without having to venture immediately back into the city.

The Rooms

I stayed in Room 603, a Superior Room on the sixth floor with its own balcony.

The room was comfortable and thoughtfully appointed, with the balcony providing an especially appealing addition. Having your own outdoor space in Paris is a luxury in itself, and it offered a lovely vantage point over the city.

For a Fashion Week stay, the room also provided the space and comfort needed to get ready between the day’s plans.

Room tip: If a balcony is important to you, enquire about the Superior Rooms with balcony when booking.

The Service

This was one of the stronger aspects of my stay.

We were afforded early check-in and late check-out, which gave us considerably more flexibility around our schedule. On arrival, a member of the team personally greeted us, introduced us to the hotel and made it clear that they were available should we need anything.

The service also proved genuinely thoughtful when our photographer’s flash batteries ran out. The hotel didn’t have a compatible charger on site, so a member of the team went out and purchased one specifically so we could recharge the batteries.

It was an unexpected gesture, but one that said a great deal about the hotel’s approach to hospitality.

The Verdict

Hotel Flanelles successfully combines location, comfort, character and attentive service without overcomplicating the experience.

For my Fashion Week stay, the proximity to Gare du Nord made navigating the city considerably easier, while the interiors, balcony room and thoughtful service gave the hotel a personality of its own.

The early check-in and late check-out were particularly appreciated, as was the team’s willingness to go beyond the expected — even purchasing a charger when our photographer needed one.

If you’re looking for one of the best places to stay for Paris Fashion Week and beyond, particularly if convenience and comfort matter as much as character, Hotel Flanelles is an address worth knowing.
