At Alfred Hotels’ first Parisian address, the brand brings its quietly considered approach to hospitality to the Gare du Nord neighbourhood — a stay shaped by thoughtful design, genuine comfort and the ease of being so well connected to the city.
I stayed at Alfred Hotels Gare du Nord while in Paris for Fashion Week, a particularly fitting time to experience a hotel where convenience and ease become part of the stay. Just a few minutes from Gare du Nord, the hotel offers a practical yet considered base for experiencing Paris, whether you’re arriving into the city, heading across town for an appointment or setting out to explore. But it’s the combination of location, service and thoughtfully designed interiors that makes Alfred worth discovering.
Read on to discover why Alfred Hotels – Gare du Nord is a hotel to consider if you’re visiting the city for a weekend escape, a business trip or simply looking for a well-connected base from which to explore Paris.
Designed around ease
The experience begins before you arrive. Ahead of my stay, the Alfred team contacted me via WhatsApp, making themselves available to help with anything I might need before reaching the hotel.
I also arrived earlier than the hotel’s early check-in time. Rather than leaving me waiting with my luggage, the team offered me a temporary room where I could change and get ready, while my bags were safely stored. It meant I could head straight out and make the most of my time in Paris.
For a city where time can easily disappear, that kind of thoughtful service makes a difference.
Tasteful Interiors
The hotel’s interiors balance its Haussmann heritage with a softer, contemporary aesthetic. Throughout the reception and dining spaces, artwork adds character, sitting alongside natural tones, soft materials and plenty of light. The result feels warm, considered and distinctly Parisian without being overworked.
I stayed in Room 602 on the sixth floor, which came with a particularly memorable feature: a double balcony overlooking Paris, with views towards the Eiffel Tower.
After a busy day in the city, it became the perfect place to pause, take in the skyline and reset before heading out for what was next.
The Alfred Approach
What stayed with me most was the balance between comfort, thoughtful service and simplicity.
Alfred doesn’t feel like a hotel that is trying to overwhelm you with experiences. Instead, it gets the fundamentals right: a comfortable and considered room, attentive service, an easy location and a calm place to return to after a day in the city.
For me, the little details made the difference — from the WhatsApp contact before arrival to the flexibility around my early arrival, and ultimately returning to Room 602 and its Eiffel Tower views.
Sometimes, a good Paris hotel is simply one that makes experiencing the city ( for me a busy fashion week season ) feel easier.
